Berlin 3rd November 2007

The film Quatrefoil from Awi Film, o.s. has been nominated in Berlin Deaf Film Festival and we were there. It has been our first film presenting abroad, especially in festival. It has been held on 3rd November 2007 with our cast of actors from Quatrefoil. Two out of five films where from Czech Republic ( Awi film, o.s. and Tomas Wirth) and three German films. For the opening film festival came about 500 people. It was a spectacular experience and we even did not think about winning. We were already happy as our movies were nominated. After seeing a few movies, jury and deaf moderators pronounced winner in these categories: the best movie, the best editing, the best cameraman and the best actor

• The best movie in the category was film “Rozhodnuti” – “ Die Entscheidung” from Germany

• The best actress was Lenka Bartonova (Wiesnerova)

• Other nomination in category got film group of Tomas Wirth with “ I live alone in my flat”. Unfortunately, some people from Tomas Wirth’s group could not be there – deaf editor and deaf cameraman, because they died in a car accident. ( It is well known that this film has been made by deaf students of FAMU in 1995 and it also has been in APPN – TV deaf club).
